Glass is stubborn and petulant... It refuses to give in just like that... It would rather crack than bend, it is razor sharp and bullet hard and yet intriguing for its strength, its colours, its play of light. Glass shards refuse to give in. They surface and demand attention again. Thus they raise questions... They bear witness to the human lives that left them as glittering traces of an eventful past.

What if they could tell their story? What if they carried within them the thoughts of those who entrusted them to the earth? What if they could reflect time? What if they find a new life by being reunited in a new object?

The installations created by glass artist Nico Sabbe for RE(f)USED invited reflection, rebuilt from the shards of the past, testifying to a crumbled world and shattered lives, from a time when hope and trust were the only bright spot.
